On the territory of the DPR, they began to block Google services, Vedomosti reports. Also, Zoom services (works only through VPN) and Viber (there are problems with downloading images and videos) were blocked.

The publication itself, citing unnamed employees of local operators, claims that this is the fulfillment of the requirements of the DPR Ministry of Communications, which was sent out back in October 2022. Then they demanded to block Google, Viber and Zoom. There was also talk of slowing down YouTube traffic. All this is implemented at the level of the main operator Uglelecom. However, the implementation of this directive has only recently begun.

At the same time, other services, including Android smartphones and tablets, have also been blocked.

“ Google has a large range of IP addresses, and the company randomly uses them in different services, so they periodically fall off ,” one of the media interlocutors explained.

Roskomnadzor said they had not heard of such an order, and the DPR Ministry of Communications has not yet commented on the information about the blocking. By the way, in the summer the same thing happened in the Kherson region.

Note that the head of the DNR, Denis Pushilin, in July 2022 spoke about blocking Google in the territory of the republic. All major foreign social networks are already blocked there.
